I secretly love this time of day, and only wish it could magically be about half an hour longer.
I’ve taken M to school, and have come back to wait to take N. Hopefully, soon I will hear the thump thump thump of her running off to the bathroom. If not, I’ll have to go prod her again. I’d rather not.
But in the meantime, I’m sitting at the dining room table checking my email, doing little things for work. I really am technically working. But I’m not in my office, which may make it a little easier to think, actually.
In here it still feels like “the gray light of morning,” even if outside it’s warming up. It’s going to be hot today.
Ah, I just heard a thump, followed by a sneeze, and then a nose being blown vigorously.
Good.
I have some news about the prom, but that can wait, I think.

Mornings are my favorite time of day, too. This morning I sat on our front porch drinking coffee and watching a tremendous thunderstorm and thinking about how much I like my life right now…
