In the piney woods

I’m going to have to tell this in degrees. But today’s installment is about Maine. We flew into Providence, getting there about 5:00 in the afternoon and meeting M and my mother at the airport. They had my mother’s car, and we rented a van and together we took off for the north woods. (Well, we stopped along the way for an extended dinner at a Rhode Island Italian dinner, complete with Tony Somebody crooning Sinatra songs into a sort of kareoke machine.) We got to the B and B around midnight.

It was lovely. There were loons. There was a little boathouse with a screened-in porch on top.

I’m moving to Maine.

Just thought you should know.

  1. I’m hoping to go this summer. My brother has a house there, but I haven’t been since I was 6 or 7. There’s an editor where I work who lives there and telecommutes. It sounds like a lovely thing.
