So, we did go, and it was lovely.
Rainy walks, bike rides through forests, shore birds —
Perfectly lovely.
It was rainy and stormy and we ended up stuck on the island for one extra night — we were by ourselves, since our friends, without a car, managed to make it home. It meant we condensed the family obligations into one day and had an extra day to go look at beaches and go to bed early in a cottage by ourselves.
It is exhausting being out in the weather.
So that was nice —
I think I am finally worn out, though. Good thing there are no more trips, vacation or otherwise, scheduled for a while.
I am on holiday in New York and will need a holiday when I get back. I wish I could show you the picture of a dead bird I found on the sidewalk. No one can tell me what it is. It has a very long beak and mottle brown feathers. A chunky oblong sort of bird.
odd. Not a starling? Perhaps a grackle? Interesting. have fun in New York!!! You have family there now, I think!
It was a short-billed dowitcher!
Wow!!! So cool!! This was in NY? But where? huh. And why dead?
I do always enjoy your photographs so much. You’ve got a good eye and I love seeing things from your perspective.
And a photo of the edge of the ocean!
Indeed it is — nothing out there until you hit, I don’t know, Ireland?
